Witch Devlog: chat, potions, and a touch of temptation
Hello, witches and curious onlookers 👀💜
While the cauldron was bubbling and the ingredients were suspiciously twitching, we were not sitting idle. Lately, we have been busy polishing, creating new characters, and balancing systems that make the game world feel more alive, bolder, and… more honest about your desires 😏
Here’s what has changed.
💬 Chat improvements
We seriously upgraded the chat system. It now works directly inside the game instead of in a separate scene, so talking to characters feels natural and does not pull you out of the experience.
The chat now features 6 new images, and we have also added progression:
- new photos and dialogues unlock as you buy outfits and study ingredients
- for the boss, things are stricter for now, with content unlocking by day
The more actively you play, the more revealing the conversations become 👀

🛍 Shops you actually want to visit
We have completely redrawn the clothing shop and introduced a new character, the femboy vendor, who definitely knows his way around fashion and looks.

And for those who prefer their knowledge a little hotter, a potion research library has appeared, along with a new heroine, the orc scholar. She is not just smart, but dangerously charismatic 🧪
👗 Wardrobe and economy
You can now change outfits right at home, with a new wardrobe and a convenient outfit selection system.
At the same time, we:
- added new ingredients and potions
- rebalanced prices for clothing and resources
- updated the potion reward formula, taking into account base value, speed, number of ingredients, and their worth
The economy is now fairer, and progression feels more tangible.
🎬 Polish and atmosphere
To make the first impression count, we added a short intro at the start of the game and a separate sprite for the game-over screen (yes, even losing looks good now).
We have also started gradually adapting the visuals to a 16:9 format: the home location and main menu have been updated. The demo originally used a different aspect ratio, so this is a careful but important step forward.
🛠 Technical fixes:
- added loading when transitioning to the start menu
- improved the save system
- fixed some bugs from the previous build
Less awkwardness, more pleasure.
We keep making the witch’s world richer, more responsive, and more shameless 💜
If you have not checked out the updated demo yet, now is the perfect time.
And adding the game to your wishlist helps us cast our spells much better ✨
